Scenarios in which a taxpayer can claim refund under GST in India

  1. Exports: When a taxpayer exports goods or services, they can claim a refund of the GST paid on the inputs used in the production or supply of the exported goods or services.

  4. Refund of excess payment: When a taxpayer pays excess GST by mistake or due to any other reason, they can claim a refund of the excess payment.
To claim a GST refund in India, the taxpayer must file an application in the prescribed format on the GST portal within the stipulated time period. The application must be supported by relevant documents, such as invoices, shipping bills, and bank statements. Process of filing GST Refund
